Project Description
The “DS4All” project arises from the need to transform distance learning, driven by the pandemic, into an inclusive and critical educational opportunity. Its central premise is that the experience of students with learning disabilities is key to closing the digital divide in classrooms. The project seeks to prevent technology from being merely a temporary patch, instead promoting creative and strategic use that avoids frustration and demotivation. Over two years, teachers and vocational education and training experts will experiment with innovative methodologies to “change the rules of the game” in digital teaching. Special focus is placed on students with special educational needs, ensuring that digital tools are effective support resources and not just technological devices. Through the exchange of good practices, teaching staff will be updated on strategies that make online education more agile and human. Ultimately, the objective is to consolidate integrated teaching where technology enhances each student’s talent.
Objectives
- Provide students with digital competencies that facilitate intelligent, creative and safe use of information and communication technologies.
- Explore the current level of students' digital competence and identify areas requiring greater pedagogical attention.
- Implement and disseminate innovative solutions and good practices in digital skills education at various levels, including higher education.
- Facilitate the transition to the labour market by equipping students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary in contemporary offices.
Implementation
The project is based on the creation and promotion of direct training opportunities for students, structured around three key components: an Online Self-Assessment Tool, a Personalised Study Plan and an Online Course. The recommended teaching methodology focuses on active learning, specifically through problem-based learning, so that students acquire competencies aligned with the real demands of businesses. The project coordinates the efforts of partners from several countries (Ireland, Belgium, Poland, England and Spain) to adapt these resources to different educational contexts.
Expected Results
Accurate identification of each student's digital skills profile through the self-assessment tool (presented in radial graphs showing strengths and areas for improvement).
Improvement of students' digital competencies in three main areas: employment and entrepreneurship, active citizenship and lifelong learning.
Access to a set of pedagogical resources (curricula, educational materials and e-learning) adaptable to various training activities.
Increased preparedness of graduates for the use of technologies, software and problem-solving tools typical of a modern professional environment.
