European Lived Culture Connects

Project Description

The project “EliCCon” is born under the motto “United in diversity” to explore the rich European cultural heritage and strengthen a shared identity. Its main objective is to raise awareness in society about the value of the values, traditions and customs that shape our daily lives, combating prejudices through mutual learning. To this end, a consortium of partners from the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom will document the diverse cultures present in their communities. Through photographs, recordings and direct interviews with people who keep these traditions alive, the project will capture the essence of cultural change and non-European influences. The findings will be disseminated through exhibitions, intercultural meetings and digital artistic productions. This initiative aims to reach educational institutions, businesses and citizens of all ages, fostering valuable collaborations and a deep understanding of our common heritage. Thus, EliCCon transforms cultural knowledge into a key tool for social cohesion and the removal of barriers in the European Union.

Objectives

Implementation

The implementation of the project is based on the creation of a network of cultural and civil partners who design and execute collaborative itineraries of cultural activities (festivals, heritage routes, creation laboratories, community meetings) where the local and migrant population participates both as creators and spectators, using co-creation approaches, cultural mediation and active participation methodologies; these processes are articulated around the idea of “European lived culture”, connecting traditions and everyday experiences from different countries through artistic residencies, exchanges and transnational workshops, while good practices are documented and analysed to synthesise them into a methodological guide and a set of open resources accessible online.

Expected Results

Greater citizen participation in co-designed cultural activities, with greater diversity of profiles and communities involved.

Strengthening of transnational cooperation between cultural organisations and local entities, with sustainable agreements and working networks beyond the project.

Availability of a guide of methodologies and good practices on “European lived culture”, focused on cultural mediation and community participation.

Expanded visibility of local cultural practices as part of a common European narrative, communicated through digital materials, cultural maps and dissemination platforms.
