Traditions, ethics and etiquette

Project Description

The objective of the project is our participation and involvement in managing possible misunderstandings and conflicts prior to coming into contact with people from other countries. This is of paramount importance in the current situation of migration and tourism.

The priority of the project is to contribute to empathy and tolerance for different cultural traditions and the peaceful coexistence of people with diverse cultural and religious traditions.

The project and its results will help more volunteers, expert groups and public administration organisations working in culture, tourism, with immigrants, etc. It is also aimed at educational centres dealing with international relations and security.

Objectives

Implementation

The project is implemented through the production and dissemination of a manual-book “Traditions, Ethics and Etiquette”, which includes chapters on human rights, gender equality, religious tolerance, migration, social etiquette and responsible travel, among other topics. Partners use this book as classroom material in educational institutions, integrating it into subjects such as civic education, history, social sciences, citizenship education and humanities. Workshops, debates and interactive activities are organised with students and teachers (for example, case studies on migration, responsible tourism or intercultural conflict), following the structure and content of the book. The project also promotes the transnational exchange of experiences and teaching practices, supported by digital platforms and cooperation networks between schools and universities participating in the consortium.

Expected Results

An educational resource book in Spanish and other languages on traditions, ethics and etiquette from a European perspective, available openly for use in educational centres.

Improved social, ethical and intercultural awareness of participants (students and teaching staff) regarding human rights, gender equality, migrant integration and religions.

Greater knowledge and practice of norms of good coexistence and responsible behaviour, both in the school environment and in tourism and interpersonal relations.

Consolidation of a network of European educational centres sharing methodologies and experiences on the teaching of values, ethics and coexistence in the classroom.
